Hands of Hope is a small community charity set up in 2016, to tackle rural isolation, loneliness, and food poverty, as well as improving physical, mental, and environmental health outcomes by connecting communities with nature and each other.

Launched in 2020 as a direct response to COVID-19, Get Growing is a free, community food growing initiative which provides horticultural equipment and support to communities in Rother, Hastings, and West Kent.
We deliver free, organic Grow Kits and provide ongoing support - encouraging as many people as possible to start growing their own food whatever space they have - from windowsill to patio to garden to allotment. Whether at home, at school, in residential care settings or part of a community garden.

Community Engagement
Supporting Local Food Banks
With the help of our amazing Volunteers, we grow fresh, organic produce in our Market Garden which is delivered weekly to local food banks.
Aligned to NHS five key recommendations – to connect, to be active, to take notice (be mindful), to learn and to give back, to date we have:
Registered 600 settings.
Delivered 1,000 Grow Kits.
Reached 13,000 potential growers
Distributed tonnes of food to local food banks.
Sowed & Delivered 7,769 Plug Plants
Prepared and Distributed 4,766 Seed Packets.
Accrued over 2,000 hours in Volunteer support.
