About Our Charity
Hands of Hope is a small, community charity set up in 2016 by the current Trustees and run by them. Restoring & developing a neglected heritage Walled Kitchen Garden and 22 acres of AONB in Hawkhurst, Hope Farm Garden, we deliver programmes & activities aimed at tackling rural isolation, loneliness and food poverty as well as improving the physical & mental wellbeing of communities throughout Rother, Hastings & West Kent, by connecting them with nature and each other – “growing together, building communities.”
Our projects include Get Growing, Bee in Company, Helping Hands Lunch Clubs, Men in Sheds and Holiday Hunger; additionally, we offer, free, rural crafts training & Volunteering sessions. We have a productive, organic, market garden, with Soil Association Accreditation & plan to extend our growing capacity in 2022 to support our new Box Scheme, Hope Farm Organics which was launched on 9th July 2021.
“Combining natural and community heritage, we aim to teach people and their communities’ practical ways to sustain, conserve, protect and improve the natural environment by connecting them with nature and each other.”
